Explore the vast areas of the John Muir Wilderness throughout the summer.
This is the largest wilderness in California, located in prime central
Sierra Nevada. It is characterized by snow-capped mountains, hundreds of
alpine lakes and streams. Elevations range from 4,000 feet to more than
14,000 feet. Trips start and end at Rock Creek or Sage Flats. Choose from
several trips during the summer with various lengths. From short circle
trips around Bishop or Mammoth, to week long rides into Pine Creek, Red’s
Meadow, McGee Creek, Sage Flat, Lone Pine, or Purple Lake.

Hilton Lakes Trail Ride

Pick your dates. We will take you into the
high areas of Hilton Lakes and set up camp. We provide the wrangler and
cook. Ride as much as you like, fish some, relax a lot. There will be time for you to explore the
upper lakes and the meadows below the basin.

Golden Trout
Wilderness Trail Explore the headwaters of Golden Trout
Creek and the South Fork of the Kern River as the first explorers did.
The route begins below the Sierras rugged eastern escarpment, crosses
Olancha Pass, and descends into the magnificent Kern Plateau. Riders
will make camps at Monache Meadows, Kern Fork Stringer and Little
Whitney Meadows. Layover days allow time to explore Kern Peak, Volcano
Meadows and ride to the Kern River. Terminate at Horseshoe Meadows after

Sierra Nevada Trail Ride
We cross Mono Pass (elev. 12000') and continue on to camp below
Hopkins Creek at Mono Creek. We enjoy three layover days with day rides
out to explore the surrounding lakes and wilderness. We may move after a
day or two, depending on the feed for the stock or the condition of the
campsite. Our campsite is at the discretion of the crew.

trip to Mott Lake, a ride to explore First Recess pond and meadows, or
an exploration of Grinnel or up Second Recess. Fishing, hiking, riding

Lake allows a great place to lay over and explore the Minnow Creek area.

Mono Creek Trail
Ride
The trail to our first camp near Pioneer Basin is along one of the
oldest routes through the Sierra. As you ascend Mt. Starr and cross
12,000 ft. Mono Pass there is a panoramic view of Little Lakes Valley,
where 20 or more lakes are framed by towering mountains. Our first camp
is near Pioneer Basin followed by a layover day to explore and fish
Pioneer Basin Lakes and streams. Third day is a move to the area of
Hopkins and Mono Creek followed with two layover days to loaf around
camp or explore such areas as Hopkins Basin, Lower Mono Creek or Second
Recess. Sixth day is a return to the pack station after a leisurely
