Brush Creek Ranch shares its
eastern fence line with the Medicine Bow
National forest. There is more hiking here than
you could explore if you spent the whole summer
with us. Bring your mountain bike and you'll
take home a "Rocky Mountain" bike: there is an
enormous variety of trails, from the mildly
aerobic to the truly tough-treaded. We can also
arrange horseback and four-wheel drive
excursions (on designated Forest Service roads
only) as well as guided overnight pack or
hunting trips with a local guide. These are
custom-tailored expeditions, off the Ranch,
therefore they are subject to an additional
charge and to the availability of the outfitters
or guides.
The Saratoga and Encampment
Valley blooms with Nature's widest variety of
wildflowers. With the variation in elevations
above and below the ranch, you can find an
extremely wide range of ecosystems, from high
desert to alpine timberline, all within an hours
drive.
Our local wildlife includes
antelope, bear, the rare bobcat, elk and moose,
as well as our mascot, the Rocky Mountain
marmot, referred to locally as "Rockchucks". We
ask our guests to respect this exceptional
wilderness area as we do and make every effort
to help us preserve it while enjoying it.
