Itinerary
Day 1: You will be met by your guide in your hotel and transferred to Cerro Azul Meambar. After arrival at our rustic lodge in the National Park. We set of to explore the magnificent tropical forest types of the Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. The national park is one of the main protected areas around Lake Yojoa, which is fed by the small rivers of the surrounding mountains. We will hike to the interchange zone between the tropical rainforest and the tropical cloud forest enjoying impressive views of the lake. We will enjoy a picnic lunch by one of the many waterfalls. Day 2: This morning we rise early for a nature observation hike. After our hike we pack and drive to Lago Yojoa. We visit Los Naranjos Archaeology and Ecology Site, which is located on the lakes edge and believed to be Pre Mayan - Olmec and one of the oldest archaeology sites in Honduras. We continue on to Tela and the Caribbean coast. In route we visit Pulhapanzak Waterfall the most impressive waterfall in the country, we have time for a brief swim in the refreshing mountain stream. Day 3: In the morning we leave for Punta Izopo National Park. This excursion involves kayaking through the maze of mangrove creeks and rivers that make up this national park. The kayaks offer the perfect mode of transport to explore the mangroves and silently sneak up on the many animals and birds that inhabit the park. Overnight Tela.

Day 4: In the early morning we leave by boat to explore the impressive rock formations of Punta Sal. We visit the sheltered little bays, well hidden among the rocks, with palm-fringed beaches and blue lagoons. We will take a brief forest hike. The rest of the time we are free to relax on the beach or swim and snorkel in the crystal clear water and explore the interesting marine life of the world's second largest Coral Reef which comes close to the shore at Punta Sal. Day 5: In the morning we take a hike in the Lancetilla Botancial Gardens and Reserve. The gardens were founded over 70 years ago as an experimental botanical site by the United Fruit Company. The gardens are home to hardwood, medicinal and ornamental plants as well as tropical fruit trees from all over the world. An Orchid Garden and a Natural Reserve with a beautiful 1,200 hectares of virgin tropical rainforest make up this wonderful natural area. In the afternoon we continue on to La Ceiba. Day 6: Today we go Rafting on the Rio Cangrejal class 2 - 3 or 4 rapids. The river is home to some of the best white water in Central America. The trip is lead by an experienced rafting guide. We raft through beautiful scenery, between giant boulders, all in crystal clear warm water. After the rafting we will have time to relax and swim in the river. Overnight La Ceiba.

If Rafting isn't your thing, we will take a Cangrejal River jungle hike. The hike will take us into the Pico Bonito National Park and the beautiful surroundings of the Cangrejal River. This area is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, we will learn about the tropical rainforest, its many inhabitants and bio-diversity. Overnight La Ceiba.

Day 7: Morning or afternoon flight from La Ceiba to San Pedro Sula in time to connect with your international departure flight. The La Ceiba to San Pedro Sula flights can be exchanged for a flight to the Bay Islands. The Bay Islands are the perfect spot to extend your active adventure stay with some diving, snorkeling or sea-kayaking, contact us for more details on the Bay Islands. End of program.
